This is the city's most impressive late-Gothic building. The three-aisled basilica towers above the roofs of the Old Town. The building was started in 1421. The vantage point of this masterpiece is located 344 steps above the entrance in the 100-meter-high cathedral spire (highest cathedral tower of Switzerland). One prominent feature is the portal, on which the depiction of the last judgment may be admired.
