Concern for environmentally friendly development was already shown in the construction of buildings (in the years 1979 to 1981) by connecting them to the urban gas works district heating system. Inspired by sustainable development, the complex converted to environmentally friendly, future-oriented waste management in 1992, requiring its exhibitors and their stand builders to sort their waste and charging them according to the polluter pays principle (a value of almost 80% recycled goods is achieved).
