But there are also other curiosities here, including the very steep aerial cable-car connecting Verdasio to Rasa. Rasa is a car-free hamlet. These days the stone houses are used mostly by vacationers - life here is very hard and so it is easier to make one"s living down in the valley. But it is very picturesque and invites to some lovely hikes in the shady forests that seem to be a kind of jungle.
From here, one also has a superb view onto the sunny side of the valley and the village of Intragna with its very high church spire (69 meters). One can hike down to Corcapolo, crossing the Melezza River and then climb back into the Centovalli train.

Drive or take public transportation from Locarno to Verdasio. There, take the aerial cable-car to Rasa.
