From the mountain station, and good 10-minute walk from the Burleun mountain restaurant, views extend over the anterior Rhine Valley as far as Surselva.

Many commence a mountain hike here at 1666-meter altitude: Over the Kisten Pass to the Muttsee hut and on to the Linth Valley, or incredibly scenic Biferten hut, where fossils are not uncommon. Or to the pristine Val Frisal at1900-meter altitude, a 3km long valley with attractive meandering watercourses and a descent leading past Europe’s highest spruce forest.
