The resort is situated at an altitude of 1'600 m in the shadow of the majestic Dents du Midi Mountains. Summer and winter, Champoussin offers a multitude of activities for young and old alike. The Ecole Suisse des Sports de Neige (Swiss snow sports school) offers classes on anything that slides, glides or carves and the paragliding school offers certification courses and two-man flights. The village also has a 4 km toboggan course open year-round, a marked snowshoeing trail winds through the surrounding peaks and a cross-country skiing trail leads to the neighboring village of Les Crosets and offers some of the most spectacular views to be had of the Dents du Midi. With every passing year, Champoussin becomes a more interesting and attractive destination.
The new Point Sud amusement park, a goat farm and alpine museum, tennis courts now complement a panoply of possibilities for outings on horseback, foot or mountain bike throughout the Portes du Soleil. Rest and relaxation can be had at the Royal Alpage Club's covered pool, sauna and fitness centre. The crowning glory of this little village is, however, the marvelous chapel with its majestic setting facing the Dents du Midi.
