Avers/Juf is the highest settlement in Europe, occupied all year round. Here, a few stalwart mountain dwellers defy the frosty temperatures of the long winter at an impressive 2126 m.a.s.l., holding out in front of the stove until the cold, white apparition has passed, and looking forward to the few short weeks of the mountain summer.
On the worldwide unique nature trail through the natural habitat of animals sleeping all winter, a marmot adventure is guaranteed. from Avers-Juppa (2005 m ü. M.) you can follow the 11 stations through the Val Bregalga up to Alp Bregalga/Olta Stofel (2074 m a.s.l..) Riding along the 3 kilometers on a car-free natural road you will find out a lot about the Alpine marmot.
