Since 1893 people visiting the Stanserhorn have been taking the wooden carriages of the oldtimer funicular to the intermediate station of Kälti, where today's visitors continue the journey to the Stanserhorn in a gondola lift. On the summit, the revolving restaurant offers an unrestricted view of Lake Zug, Lake Wichel, Lake Lucerne, Lake Sempach, Lake Sarn, Lake Hallwiler, Lake Gerzen, Lake Bannalp, Lake Baldegger, Lake Alpnach and further on to Alsace and to the Black Forest.
Visitors who prefer more intense physical activities, hike the Flower Reserve or the Marmot Park. By the way, the Stanserhorn, an ideal summer mountain, is the local mountain of Delta Club Stans, the largest and oldest kite flying club of Switzerland - a fact that can hardly be overlooked on sunny weekends. By the way, rangers help out in naming mountain peaks.
