The Maschgen Ridge – Facing the Churfirsten

Flumserberg

High above Lake Walen, facing the prominent Churfirsten, a geologically interesting mountain chain, you will find Flumserberg, the vacation destination. You can reach the Maschgen Ridge, a fabulous vantage point, by gondola train.

Description

During the ascent, the pre-Alpine landscape opens up breathtaking vistas, which extend far into the Austrian province of Vorarlberg. From the summit you can see the Churfirsten in front of you, and glance as far as Lake Walen and into the Rhine Valley. Both mountain bikers and hikers find their paradise in the summer months on the Flumserberg.

From the mountain station of the Maschgen Ridge (2019m) a fine trail leads parallel to the ridge around the “Ziger”. From the south face you will view the Spitzmeilen region, from the north face you will see the Churfirsten. Sometimes even Mount Säntis with its TV antenna can be discerned. At the “5-Seen-Bänkli” (“Five-Lake-Bench”) one can see the three Seeben lakes (small lakes with lots of pike), Lake Walen and further in the distance Lake Zürich. By the end of June the slopes of the Maschgen Ridge are a sea of deep blue gentian.

Tender steaks, giant pork chops, Älpler-Makkaronen à la St. Gallen-Oberland and much more are the culinary delights awaiting you here.
