Intro
The Irchel Tower offers you a wonderful view across the entire wine country up to the Säntis and across the Flaach Valley up to Germany.
The 28-meter-high tower built in 1983 replaces an earlier tower. The Irchel Tower was in the past a bone of contention. In the 1970s, Canton Zurich’s power plants agreed to finance the new structure, provided a new antenna for the planned radio network was installed atop the tower. About 50 steps lead to the top of the Irchel Tower. This vantage point has a rest area and is well-suited for families. Hiking trails from various directions make the tower accessible.
