Medicinal herbs and aromatic plants

Since 1996 Erwin Grünenfelder has been cultivating more than 70 varieties of herbs on an area of 2,2ha on his farm 'Le Plan' in Vaulion, Canton Vaud. In contrast to industrial production of herbs that takes place on vast areas of land, much of his cultivation is done through manual labour and according to strict organic guidelines (Bio Suisse Bud). There is thus no use of synthetic fertilisers and herbicides.
