The oldest crossing between Valais and Bern with stunning views of Valais’ four-thousand metre peaks. The Lötschen Pass hut lies in a geologically-interesting region; entire packs of ibex can also frequently be encountered in the stark terrain. The rebuilt hut on the highest point at 2690m offers accommodation for 70 people in dormitories (reservations advantageous).

Culinary delights

Simple meals based on fresh organic produce, fresh bread from our wood-fired oven. Daily home-baked fruitcake.

Specialities

Small, cosy retreat, far from the hustle and bustle of tourist centres; simple dormitory accommodation for approx. 20 persons. Snowshoe walks and ski tours: from the new glacier railway in approx. 2 hours, easy 10-minute ascent, the remainder a leisurely descent. From Lauchemalp it's a 3-hour walk along the Sommerweg Trail.
