The wealth of the largest continuous forest in the Swiss Mittelland is highly conspicuous to its visitors: those who venture out on a walk will soon find themselves in a magical world. Since the year 2000, the nature here, which has largely been left to its own resources, has increasingly transformed itself into a primordial fairy-tale land. Something which is not least due to the various climactic and soil conditions. The result is beautiful to look at for the layperson and also fascinating in its outgrowths for researchers and eco educational centres.

The Sihl forest is an impressive natural experience that lies directly on the doorstep of the Zurich recreational region. And a particular attraction for families: in the Langenberg wildlife park, the Sihl forest has a zoo in which wild animals like bears, beavers and lynxes can be observed in huge nature-like enclosures, as if they were moving about in the wild.
