Arête des Sommêtres

This imposing craggy ridge, with the ruined Spiegelberg castle, rises up out of the deep valley of the Doubs to meet the high plateau of the Franches Montagnes (Freiberge). This is wild and beautiful scenery, typical of the Jura. On the summit is a mountain hut that can be rented out – take your own food, drink and sleeping bag. The beautiful sunsets will make your efforts worthwhile!
