Emerald Lizard Trail

Description

Walk around the Kapellenhügel in Salgesch (1.5 hours, incl. time to watch wildlife). The path passes through vineyards and rocky steppe landscape and shows how closely entwined are the natural and cultivated landscapes. The wine-growers have set aside a quarter of their land to be conservation areas; this provides habitats for rare types of vegetation and threatened animal species. Guided tours can be booked locally.
