Description

Imier, a hermit and missionary hailing from the Ajoie region, arrives in the valley of the same name today in around the year 600 AD. The history of Saint-Imier begins here. With the establishment of the watch industry, the 18th century heralds a fundamental change: the sleepy farming village is transformed into an important industrial town. The 1.5-hour guided tour presents the history of this watch town.

The careful planning of a tour will ensure that you also derive the maximum pleasure and enjoyment from it. Please take the time to contact the local information centre and enquire about route and weather conditions before setting off. Your intended trail may be fully or partially closed, depending on the time of year and weather conditions.
