Description
Alpage du Chiesso 2100m (Parking Lot) - l'Ar du Tsan 2184m - Col du Cou 2528m - Tête des Planards 2447m - Alpage du Chiesso 2100m
The Charcoal Miners Trail begins 50 meters above the Alpage du Chiesso. The well-constructed path ascends slowly in a southeasterly direction. At a height of 2300 meters above sea level one walks along the eastern flank of Mt. Noble to the waterfall in the Vallon de Réchy. The Rèche River and its tributaries are bordered by a large expanse of bogs. In earlier times charcoal was mined in this area.
At the l'Ar du Tsan (2184m) you can either ascend to the Lac du Louché (2567m) or continue on the trail to the Col de Cou (2568m). The excursion to the lake increases the hiking time by about two hours.
