Description
Leuk station - Hexenplatz - Pletschen - Bhutan Bridge - Obere Abschlacht - Leuk station
This short hike starts at the Leuk station (625m) and passes the old well before reaching the Hexenplatz. The forest trail follows the Illgraben - an impressive trench where the water continually wears out deep grooves. At the highest point of the trail at 855 metres, the 134-metre long Bhutan Bridge crosses the Illgraben. The hanging walkway that connects the Lower and Upper Valais symbolises the bridging of a cultural divide. The return trip passes through the Pfyn Forest in the direction of Obere Abschlacht and back to Leuk station.
