Leuk Railway Station – Leuk City – Varen – Taschunieru – Bisse de Varone – Raspille – Miège – Muzot Rilke – Veyras – Sierre Railway Station

The Suonen hike begins at the Leuk Railway Station (630 m) and leads up to Leuk (724 m), a town that is renowned for its cultural history. Hike over the imposing Dala Bridge in the direction of the wine village of Varen (757 m) and up to the Taschunieru hamlet (933 m). After a further short ascent you will reach the entrance to the Varner Suone (large water conduit) (980 m). The course of the Suone/Bisse leads through the rock fall region of the Varner Alp. The language border – the wild Raspille – is crossed at La Proprija (981 m). The path leads through the francophone localities of Miège (nearby is Muzot Castle, where Rilke completed the Duino Elegies) and Veyras to Siders (542 m).
