Sited on a mighty cliff, the magnificent castle complex towers majestically over the Posterior Rhine at the entrance to the Viamala gorge. It was the first Christian church to be built by the valley’s inhabitants. The best-kept secret of the region however are the rock paintings by Carschenna: 11 rock slabs covered by paintings that neither lend themselves to being dated nor interpreted. A must for all visitors who harbour an interest in culture.
