Lengenbach mine

The most famous site where minerals are still actively being extracted is at Lengenbach near Fäld. Even in the 18th century, people used to come here looking for iron ore. While children can search the dolomite rock for fool's gold (pyrite), the true collectors are after real rarities. Once a week the Binntal Tourist Office organises a guided tour to the Lengenbach mine, which is otherwise not open to the public.
