Gruhalde clay pit

This is where the plateosaurus bones were found which are on display in the Saurier Museum in Frick. It is the only plateosaurus site that is still accessible, and is well-known among collectors for its numerous fossils. A special area has been set aside for fossil hunters (a "hammering place") where pieces of rock containing fossils are accessible. You can come here at any time to look for fossils - no need to pre-book!
