Leuk charnel house

A 20 m long wall of skulls gives the chapel in the middle of Leuk its name. These are not people who died in plagues or wars, who found their last resting places here, but the mortal remains of those for whom there was no room in the cemetery. The inscription: "What you are, we once were. What we are, you will become", is a memento mori, a reminder that you must die.
