Description

Situated between the river Rhine and the Jura, the topographically varied landscape of Fricktal possesses the ideal conditions for hiking. The trail here is an Alpine local history route marked by blue signposts.
The starting points and destinations for interesting and varied hiking tours are easy to reach by public transportation.

The stage including the Zähringer town of Rheinfelden: Wegenstetten village: Rheinfelden (285 m, train station) - Steppberg (395 m) - Magdener Gallows (449 m) - Sonnenberg (632 m, viewing tower, Turmstube Cafe) - Zeiningen village (340 m, bus stop) - Chriesiberg (545 m) - Looberg (571 m) - Wabrig (556 m) - Airport Schupfart (beginning of runway, wayside cross) - village of Wegenstetten.

The Turmstube , a cafe on Mt. Sonnenberg, is open for coffee on Sundays and holidays. The viewing tower is always accessible.
