For more than two hundred and fifty years, the Vallée de Joux has revelled in the success of its watchmaking industry. The watchmaking businesses of today are guardians of this long tradition with the best proof for this being the prestigious brands that have long been established in the Vallée de Joux.

The foundation displays a collection of antique wall clocks dating back to between the 16th and 19th centuries. There is also an exhibition detailing the history of watchmaking in the Vallée de Joux, a reconstruction of an old watchmaking workshop and many temporary exhibitions. The site is 50 minutes away from Lausanne and 60 minutes away from Geneva. Follow signs for "Musée Essor".
