Lötschen Pass

As the oldest crossing between Valais and Berne, the Lötschen Pass attracts many walkers. Climb starting from Kandersteg or the Lötschen valley. Glacier pass with views of the Valais four-thousand-metre peaks, especially of the Bietschhorn and Mischabel group. Descent into sun-blessed, flower-spangled Ferden with its characterful timber houses. Route: Gasterntal – Selden – Lötschenpass – Ferden, or the reverse direction.
