Imposing mountains and any number of leisure activities combined with a wide range of accommodation make the Jungfrau Region, with the resorts of Grindelwald, Wengen, Lauterbrunnen and Mürren, an outstanding holiday destination.
In summer you can choose from over 500 km of marked walking, hiking and mountain paths. The crystal-blue mountain lakes and gushing waterfalls provide a welcome refreshment. In winter the region offers all kinds of fun in the snow with 213 km of runs, 100 km of winter footpaths and 50 km of toboggan runs. Every holidaymaker in the Jungfrau Region gets the spectacular views of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau thrown in for free. The landscape has also been awarded the status of a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Excursions

An excursion to the Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe and the Schilthorn – Piz Gloria are amongst the highlights of every stay. A rack-railway takes guests from Grindelwald and Wengen via Kleine Scheidegg to the Jungfraujoch “Top of Europe”, at 3454 metres the highest railway station in Europe. Here ice and snow are guaranteed all year round. In 30 minutes a cable car takes you from Stechelberg to the Piz Gloria rotating restaurant located at the top of the Schilthorn at 3000 metres above sea level, and offering a 360° view of the Alps.

The 72 waterfalls, including the Trummelbach falls concealed within the mountains, in the Lauterbrunnen valley offer a unique spectacle. Whilst the First has crystal-clear Alpine lakes to offer, Männlichen guarantees the perfect view of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.

Superlative winter sports destination

The three regions Grindelwald-First, Kleine Scheidegg-Männlichen and Mürren-Schilthorn together offer a total of 213 km of ski runs ranging from fast to leisurely, and from six to twelve kilometres in length. A total of more than 40 percent of the ski runs are equipped with snow-making machines. In the Jungfrau Region however, non-skiers also get their money’s worth: 100 kilometres of winter footpaths enable you to explore the mountains on foot. Furthermore, with its countless toboggan runs, the region is a real paradise for tobogganing. Amongst them is the longest toboggan run in the Alps.
