Even in the 21st century, millions of people around the world still do not have access
to fresh and uncontaminated drinking water. The precious life-giving substance – water – is still overabundant and fresh
here in the heart of the Swiss Alps. The water melts from our glaciers and after a long
journey through layers of granite emerges pure and fresh from our faucets. In the hiking-paradise Rosswald is where the water is traveling through the said layers right now.
Summer
Hike from the Rosswald along the Ganter valley to the Bortel lodge. The renovated lodge welcomes guests through the months of June to October. The hike continues another six hours to the destination Wasenalp.
Winter
Snow cannons are the modern leprechauns that virtually guarantee the white powdery
magnificence for your winter pleasure. The Rosswald is a unique sun terrace high above the Rhone valley - sunny
during the day and cold enough to give the snow a chance to fall at night – even from a snow cannon. The price is right too. Rent your chalet early enough since they offer spectacular views on the valley below and the peaks above. The sun sets and the moon rises – you can look forward to an unforgettable spectacle of light and shadow, all in a magic world of white.
