From Piotta, take one of the world's steepest funiculars to the Ritom reservoir at 1,800m in a beautiful setting. Spend a while on one of the terraces of the picturesque grottos or mountain huts - try, for example, the wonderful "polenta brasato" served with legendary Piora cheese in the Capanna Cadagno mountain hut.
