Description
Leave Braunwald on a gently inclining route until you hit zum Unter Stafel of the Braunwald Alp. A trail that winds through flowering meadows and through sparse forests winds up at the Bösbächi ("bad stream" in the local dialect). Then hike through an imposing morane before you sight the lake. The lake is surrounded by beautiful pastures. Then descend along a steep route touching the Leuggel Stream, the Schwächeten Stream, and the Steini Stream and wind up in Leuggelen. Cross through Aenneteggen and the historic village center of Thon and then wind up in Schwanden, at the bottom of the Linthal Valley.
