The World Snow Festival is one of the most popular winter events in the glacier village of Grindelwald. It would indeed be hard to imagine a month of January without it! This fascinating festival was launched in 1983, when a Japanese artist carved a giant Heidi into the snow. Today, a myriad of different snow sculptures takes shape on the natural ice rink in the centre of the village, bringing much fun and creativity to the village.
