Description
The Lisen Ridge Trail was started by the Swiss Alpine Club in 1905 and it is the piece de resistance of any Säntis hike. The balancing act that connects Alpstein and Toggenburg is impressive. After 50 minutes one has gone through the worst part and to make it even more worthwhile, the cozy mountain inn awaits one. From here there are various possibilities to get down into the valley: one can choose to go to Wildhaus, to Wasserauen or to Brülisau.
The less intrepid will find it easier to simply take the aerial cable-car to return back to the valley.
The Lisen Ridge Trail is only recommended to persons who are absolutely vertigo-free and who are sure-footed. It is forbidden to enter the trail if there is ice or snow.
How to get there:
Drive or take public transportation from St. Gallen/Zürich to Schwägalp, from there take the aerial cable-car.
