The Art Nouveau style hotel stands on a hill in Flüeli-Ranft, the workplace of the holy brother Klaus von Flue. The house was renovated for more than 2 years in compliance with national monument protection criteria, reopened in December 2011 and has now 83 rooms available equipped with the latest amenities. The restaurant "Veranda" with its picture window provides a clear view of the Sarneraa Valley and Glaubenberg ("faith mountain"). Culinary choices range from Obwalden to Swiss specialties.

Special Prize 2014
The art nouveau hotel Paxmontana in Flüeli Ranft (OW) has received the 2014 special award for the courageous long-term investment as well as the coherence and methodological expertise demonstrated by the builders and architects in this extensive refurbishment of the hotel.

Together with the conference and banquet halls on the ground floor, which had already been carefully restored in 1994 in cooperation with heritage preservation, the hotel offers an outstanding experience of the culture around the year 1900 combined with the technology of 2012.
