Lausanne unveiled the completion of a long-awaited urban planning project: the redevelopment of the industrial zone, Flon, which had been hidden away in the heart of the town. This large-scale restructuring of the urban town centre was unprecedented in Europe. The town centre was refitted and redesigned, marking the dawn of a new era for Lausanne and its many bars and clubs.
