Robert Walser Square

Biel does not end at the station square. The thoroughfare above the station has been extended through the station passage. Robert Walser Square, opened in 2002, thereby provides access to the lake and to Nidau. The square is structured with strict rows of ash trees and surrounded by important buildings, such as the large Coop Centre, the Communication Centre, the commercial trade school and the Residenz au Lac.
