Stans - Wisenberg - Ächerli - Sand - Stans
The tour starts in Stans and takes you at first on the hiking trail leading to Dallenwil. After a right turn, where the train tracks and main road are almost conjoining, the route turns right again and runs at first on an asphalt path, then on a challenging forest trail in the direction of Wisenberg. Riding back on the asphalt mountain trail, you will then ascend on a steep trail to the village of Wisenberg. After cycling further up the trail you will finally reach the Ächerli Pass. Here is the borderline between Nidwalden and Obwalden. The magnificent views let you anticipate that the vistas from the Stanserhorn are even more breathtaking. After riding on the hiking trail that leads to Krems you will ultimately descend on the other side of the mountain. One single track follows the next and you will be in your elements. Shortly before Kerns you will hit upon the Bruder Klausen Trail. Staying on this trail you will find your way back to Stans.
The careful planning of a tour will ensure that you also derive the maximum pleasure and enjoyment from it. Please take the time to contact the local information centre and enquire about route and weather conditions before setting off. Your intended trail may be fully or partially closed, depending on the time of year and weather conditions.
