At the meeting point, where Emmental, Entlebuch and Oberaargau come together, you will find the pulpit of the Napf Mountain, a marvelous vantage point. Although neither a road nor a train leads up to the Napf summit, this is a very busy region in the summertime. Hikers, bikers, trekkers, and walkers converge upon the mountain inn. This is not surprising, because the panorama extends from the Jura in the north up to the Bernese Oberland in the south, and as far as the Alps of Central Switzerland in the southeast. The many rock faces of the Entlebuch Mountain form a stunning backdrop of austere beauty.

Wolhusen - Menzberg - Gmeinalp - Stächelegg - Napf - Stächelegg - Änzi - Wolf - Menzberg - Wolhusen

The route is well sign-posted, because every year in June the Napf-Bike-Marathon, which is organized by the Stöckli Company, takes place here. The tour starts at the Wolhusen Railroad Station and leads along the main road towards Willisau. The hiking trail then leads up to Twerenegg and onwards to Menzberg. Accompanied by spectacular views the tour continues to Waldegg and then ascends the Hengst Mountain. Here you will have to get off your bike and walk for a short while. Finally, a magnificent single track conveys you up to the Napf Mountain. The return ride is accomplished on an ultra-technical trail that runs via Änzi down to Wolf. Another uphill ride conveys you to Menzberg, where you start your leisurely journey through the valley that brings you back to Wolhusen.

The careful planning of a tour will ensure that you also derive the maximum pleasure and enjoyment from it. Please take the time to contact the local information centre and enquire about route and weather conditions before setting off. Your intended trail may be fully or partially closed, depending on the time of year and weather conditions.
