Melchsee-Frutt – Melchsee – Tannensee – Engstlensee – Jochpass – Trübsee
The starting point of the 4-Lake Hike is the mountain station of Melchsee-Frutt. From the very start the fantastic world of mountains and lakes unfolds before your eyes. The route runs along Lake Melch, via the picturesque chapel from Melchsee-Frutt to the Tannen Lake. This lake is the only artificial one among the four lakes. From Tannalp the descent takes you to the deep-blue Engstlen Lake. This is where the ascent to the Jochpass starts. From the summit of the pass you be rewarded with a view of the valley below. On the other side rises the mighty Titlis Massif. A descent across lovely Alpine meadows leads you to crystal-clear Lake Trüb, where the 4-lake tour ends.
The careful planning of a tour will ensure that you also derive the maximum pleasure and enjoyment from it. Please take the time to contact the local information centre and enquire about route and weather conditions before setting off. Your intended trail may be fully or partially closed, depending on the time of year and weather conditions.
