The Chaumont Panorama Tower
Overview
Intro
The 15-minute ride aboard the colorful funicular to the Chaumont is a taste of the things to come atop the mountain.
At the mountain station, a staircase leads to the Panorama Tower, built in 1912. Upon reaching the 60-meter-high observation platform, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the three Jura lakes. The Neuenburg Lake is directly in front of you, Lake Murten is in the south and Lake Biel in the north. On a clear day you can see as far as the High Alps (Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau and Mont Blanc). The Panorama Tower is accessible all year for 1 Swiss Frank.
