International events capital of the Alps

There is always something happening in Gstaad, but should you have time to spare, then take a seat on the 300m short pedestrian shopping area and spend time watching the rich, the beautiful and the famous. Or have a go yourself and wander into the elegant boutiques - take a free bag as a souvenir and use it to carry home the best Hobel cheese in the world, direct from the Gstaad dairy.
This fashionable alpine village boasts the "Big 3"- (tennis tournament, polo cup and Menuhin music week), but also has something for everybody. Go rafting on the gentle River Saane, which then flows through a wild gorge before travelling through the Pays d'Enhaut to Château d'Oex. Or stroll along the shores of the well-known Lake Lauen, or explore the weather trail.
