No other mountain is quite as photographed as the Matterhorn - the views from the "five lakes route" are some of the most popular.

Five lakes in five hours, and always the Matterhorn in sight - this hike from Blauherd to Sunnegga gives magnificent views of this famous Swiss landmark, with some of the best from Lake Stelli and the glacier. Take the mountain railway to the Gornergrat (3,089 m), or the cable car to the Kleine Matterhorn, Europe's highest cable car station, at 3,883 m.
