In the centre of the village, in a restored historical building, the Espace Ballon is divided into two separate spaces: reception is on the ground floor and the exhibition and gallery is upstairs. The reception area is completely dedicated to making the centre more user-friendly, providing various services and answering any practical questions related to ballooning. The first floor is entirely devoted to presenting the hot air balloon. Visitors are surrounded by an open space, punctuated by the different zones displaying the different aspects of ballooning, from history to technology to the adventures of Piccard and Jones and the ballooning history of Chateau-d'Oex. A 3-D cinema invites visitors to enjoy different balloon journeys above the region and displays some magnificent aerial views of the region. Elsewhere in the building is a space reserved for temporary exhibitions, where presentations with an unusual approach to the world of the aerostation (and subjects relating to it) are staged.
