Vogorno

Vogorno rises on the folds of the same named and is known for its dam, which, with its height of 220m is among the highest in Europe. The oldest church in the valley is in Vogorno, dedicated to St. Bartholomew, with interesting frescoes in Byzantine style from about 1200, ten figures of saints, straight and rigid, lined up on the right walls. Arriving in Tenero from Vogorno it is said that there was a large massive door in the area of "Gola della Porta" which closed the valley to the outside.
