Its origins are very old. Recently traces of settlements which cover a time span of at least 7,000 years from the Neolithic age till the 13th century have been found around the area named "Castello". Famous citizens of Tremona were the painter, Antonio Rinaldi, and the sculptor, Enrico Mariotti, but a certain Giuseppe Rusconi is also remembered; he was a professor at the Academy in Rome, where he worked between the 17th and 18th centuries.
