Located on the shore of Lake Geneva opposite Ile de Peilz, Villeneuve adjoins the Grangette Nature Reserve, a birds’ paradise. Several supermarkets, plus an Outlet store with cut prices make up its commercial area. Located at the utmost eastern shore of Lake Geneva, Villeneuve is a historic and restful town. Its quays teem with lakeside terraces, where perch fillets and local wines are served. Located close to the Rhone delta, the Grangette Nature Reserve with its marshes, reedy marshes and ponds preserves the wild shores of Lake Geneva. Grangette is a favourite with birds and migrating birds: 260 species have been observed there. The birds also make the most of the gigantic plane tree thriving on the rocky outcrop off the shore of Villeneuve, on the romantic Ile de Peilz.
