The town of Aigle, encircled by some 132 hectares of widely renowned vineyards, is attractively located betwixt lake and mountains. This historic city is a fascinating departure point for numerous outings in the valley or in the mountains, summer and winter alike.
During the summer season, Aigle is a hive of activities on both the sporting and cultural fronts : the château with its Wine and vine museum, the swimming pool, high-trees climbing, a 18-hole golf and the Zen garden to name but a few of the attractions, cater for all tastes. Since 2002 Aigle has also been home to the World Cycling Centre, which is the headquarters of the International Cycling Union and is open to visitors all year round.
In winter, Aigle sits at the crossroads of several ski resorts in the Vaudoises Alps and is a popular stopping off point either before or after a stay in the mountains.
