Forum of Swiss History in Schwyz The national historical museum in the alpine region Experiencing history and culture One of the Alpine regions key museums of cultural history is housed in a former granary and arsenal in Schwyz. As the central Swiss headquarters of the Swiss National Museums since 1995, the Forum of Swiss History invites visitors on a voyage of discovery into the world of our ancestors. Occupying some 1,400 square meters, the permanent exhibition uses extensive information in four languages as well as multi-media and interactive stations to illustrate the everyday life of the Swiss Confederates from 1300 to 1800, while temporary exhibitions and various special events focus on the central Swiss region.
