Even the ride from Zermatt to the Klein Matterhorn is a spectacular adventure. Once on top, at 3,820 m.a.s.l., one is immersed in snow, ice and mountain peaks as far as the eye can reach. In the West there is one of the world's most easily identifiable mountains, the Matterhorn, and in the East the grandiose Monte Rosa.
The glacier connecting the Klein Matterhon and the Breithorn also accommodates a Glacier Palce, which gives visitors the possibility to see the insides of a glacier. After touring the Glacier Palace, which contains ice sculptures and information on glaciology, visitors may want to warm up at the snack bar carved into the ice.
How to get there:
Drive or take public transportation from Brig to Täsch and then by train to Zermatt (car-free resort). From there take take the mountain train to the Klein Matterhorn.
