Description
From Altstätten the ride goes to Appenzell, the capital of Canton Appenzell Innerrhoden. The Old Town of Appenzell boasts houses adorned with frescoes. From Appenzell, the ride rolls via Urnäsch to the Schwägalp, with a stop for a cable car ride up the Säntis (2502m).
From the Schwägalp the route takes motorbikers down to Neu St. Johann in Toggenburg. At Krummenau the road branches off to St. Peterzell and leads via Wasserfluh to Lichtensteig. The route then travels to Wattwil and via the Ricken Pass down to Eschenbach SG. The tour continues via a forest area and across a bridge to the Hulftegg, a meeting point of motorbikers.
The Eastern Switzerland Tour then reaches Wil SG. The "Gate to Toggenburg" boasts Eastern Switzerland’s best-preserved Old Town, which is dotted with picturesque half-timbered houses and pretty narrow lanes. From Wil the route travels via Frauenfeld and Steckborn back to the starting point of the tour, Kreuzlingen.
