Altdorf - Schattdorf - Haldi - Oberfeld - Riedertal - Schattdorf - Altdorf
On an off-road ascent you will reach the Haldi terrace, a fantastic vantage point high above Schattdorf. Past imposing rock faces you will swoop down the exciting descent into the solitary Riedertal valley. The first part of the downhill is not especially demanding, apart from the fact that 40% is a steep descent into the valley. But during the second 400-meter stretch, downhill experts can show off their skills. The route then leads through the little known Riedertal Valley to Bürglen and via Schattdorf back to the starting point of the tour, Altdorf.
You can reach the Haldi more easily if you cycle up the mountain road. The mountain train from Schattdorf to the Haldi transports bikers, too. The lower part of the downhill descent into the Riedertal Valley is very steep and challenging. The tour can be cut short on the Haldi.
The careful planning of a tour will ensure that you also derive the maximum pleasure and enjoyment from it. Please take the time to contact the local information centre and enquire about route and weather conditions before setting off. Your intended trail may be fully or partially closed, depending on the time of year and weather conditions.
