Schlossmuseum Nidau (Castle Nidau Museum)

The Seeland area has not always been as green and fertile as it is today. For many generations the three lakes region was constantly plagued by severe floods which regularly destroyed crops, tore away bridges and inundated houses and barns. The population was left defenceless against the power of the waters. The Jura waters correction successfully averted this threat of flooding. These works transformed this once barren area into a thriving agricultural region.
